the P word

In one of the recent online videos that I’ve watched, I came across one of the video’s comments that caught my attention. Its contents were not revealing; it wasn’t an idea that I was not unaccustomed to before, nor was it something unheard of; it just seemed like a timely reminder now that we are nearing the end of 2025. The gist of the comment is ca(p)tured in the following (p)aragraph, and ex(p)anded u(p)on.

There are different kinds of p in this world that we live in. The one given by X is meant to de(p)oliticise you. The one given by Y is meant to divide you. They keep us (p)oliticised, against ourselves and each other, via p. Too much p and it becomes exhausting, we disengage. We sto(p) (p)artaking in society’s events that are cornerstone to civic vitality. We sto(pp)ed thinking. We started consuming. We sto(pp)ed caring? Welcome to the s(p)ectacle!

So, food for thought. How does p look like from where you’re from?

Be kind to yourself,

Kai
